Tonya is homeowner just two years after bankruptcy

Two years after bankruptcy, Tonya is as home owner. Tonya M, of Stafford VA, came to see me in late 2012.  Her marriage had broken up, and she was working in a clothing store.   Tonya was desperate.  She had just sold her engagement ring to keep herself afloat.

When they came to see me in January, Harold and Linda were ten days from foreclosure.  Today their mortgage is current and their bad debts are all gone. Harold had a career change due to medical reasons, lost income, got into credit card debt, had a car repossessed and got behind on the mortgage.

How Can I Tell If It’s a Scam? I’m a bankruptcy lawyer.  I know many people do NOT want to think about bankruptcy.  (It doesn’t much bother Donald Trump.)  So instead of a bankruptcy lawyer, they talk to someone else. People who need a bankruptcy but want something else, often end up in scams.

Fred’s after bankruptcy credit score is 707 Fred M was a small business owner.  Because his business was dragged down by the recession, he has $50,000 in credit cards that had gone bad. Last fall Bank of America sent him a warrant-in-debt in a $17,000 credit card.

Here’s the Alexandria VA Bankruptcy Hearing Room and Alexandria VA Bankruptcy Courthouse. Most people who file bankruptcy never go to the courthouse and never see the actual bankruptcy judge.  Bankruptcy initial hearings (called “the meeting of creditors”)are at 115 S Union Street.

Dyke O’Neal is a collection agency and debt buyer, specializing in foreclosed real estate.  They try to collect on mortgage deficiencies.

Did you get called by Bayview Legal for CashNetUSA? Elle came to talk to me yesterday about bankruptcy. At our meeting, she told me about Bayview Legal.  She said she had made payment arrangements with “Bayview Legal” to pay a debt to CashNetUSA.  She wanted to file bankruptcy, but figured she had to pay Bayview.
